(Spanish, the English version is below and pictures and questions at the end)
Jaqueamos realidades junto a nuestras colectivas hermanas.
- Biblioteca transeúnte: compartir libros impresos y digitales.
- Pulgateca: reparar y reutilizar objetos obsoletizados.

Circle of Social and Solidarity Economy at the Bunqueer
Who are we?
We are the JáquerEspeis, a self-organized collective from Costa Rica working on topics related to free knowledge, decolonial technologies, antipatriarchal communities, and anticapitalist economies. We hack realities together with our sister collectives.
How are we serving the regenerative movement?
We are a meeting point for people and collectives who work on multiple subjects around social and solidarity economy. We support them in their projects training them in the secure and sustainable implementation of free technologies. We get together to have fun, plan, and execute our projects at the virtual bunqueer in https://bunqueer.jaquerespeis.org and at the non-virtual bunqueer in Barrio Escalante, in the center of San José, Costa Rica.
Some of the collectives and projects converging in our spaces and invited to join us in the Seeds (SEEDS) circle:
- Biblioteca transeúnte: share digital and printed books.
- Biblioteca de semillas (in collaboration with Escuelita de Saberes Libres): share clean seeds, knowledge about food sovereignty, and the sacred of planting…
- Pulgateca: fix and reuse objects made obsolete.
- Radiocronía: rebel communitary radio.
- Club de la programación: we learn to program in community.
- Tropicalización (in collaboration with Feliz Feliz): translate and adapt knowledge.
- La Feria: platform for selling and distributing products.
- Funga Conservation: environmental conservation of fungi.
- GuanaRED: National network of art and community cultural management.
More projects will join us along the way.
What are we going to do with the funds of this campaign and why are we asking for this # of Seeds?
We want to promote our social and solidarity economy circles and at the same time train ourselves in the use of technologies for decentralized economies.
For this campaign we ask for 200 000 Seeds, that we will use over 6 months distributing them to our collaborators as recognition for their time and labor.
At the JáquerEspeis collectives and individuals meet and in a self-sustained way they contribute work and knowledge around diversity, sovereignty, digital commons, environmental conciousness and responsibility.
We will recognize equally every type of contributions that support this work: donations for paying the rent of the space, cleaning, radio shows, translations, workshops, tending the garden, graphic design, server maintenance, wall painting, donations of materials, programming, etc.
Distribution
We will reward volunteers and collaborators in 3 levels as they participate in different projects that benefit the collectives and communities where they work.
Level 1: We will recognize the first contribution with an invitation to join Seeds with 15 Seeds, and a personalized workshop about cryptocurrencies and regenerative economies. At the end of the workshop, we will give them 185 Seeds with the mission for them to add 5 people to the solidarity circle.
Level 2: For the second contribution we will give them 300 Seeds with the goal to plant and start experimenting with digital payments inside the circle. We will give them a group workshop about the SEEDS ecosystem, facilitated by one of Jaquerspeis facilitators and a SEEDS Ambassador. 3 workshop sessions will be programmed.
Level 3: For the third and any subsequent contribution we will give them 1000 Seeds with the goals to start to exchange goods and services mediated by Seeds, register their organizations in the SEEDS marketplace, and propose their own campaigns. We will support every one of their campaigns, so they can be successfully proposed to the SEEDS community. 3 workshops sessions will be programmed on how to onboard organizations and use of campaigns.

Questions
Q: I am not sure why you need extra 300 seeds for the experiment. I feel you could use the Seeds earned in Level 1 to experience with
A: It is both an incentive to experiment, and a recognition for their contribution. We expect the seeds for the first contribution to be distributed in invitations. We think that 300 is an appropriate payment for a second contribution, and that it will encourage people to engage in trading goods and services.
Q: How long a session in Level 3 will last? If only an hour or two I feel again 1000 Seeds a bit too much, maybe 3hrs and above justifies it more. Also not feeling positive for the 1000 Seeds for buying goods and services, but understand there should be some injection to get the wheels moving
A: We still have to prepare the sessions, but a couple of hours sound appropriate. I consider the payment to be fair with the current value of seeds in dollars. Specially since we are not recognizing all the time the facilitators have spent so far, nor their time guiding people after the sessions. But since the real value of a seed is hard to predict, what I consider more important is that the payment for every contribution will be 1000 seeds after the participants have demonstrated their interest. This is an equalizer of income, abundance in the recognition which I expect will turn into generosity instead of greed. If this happens, we will also get back generosity on the time and contributions to the collectives, and more people on-boarded to this circle that by this moment should have proven that it’s not a piramid of capital. With this capital rapidly chaging hands in the circle, the other campaigns we will propose will not require any money for on-boarding, but will be recognitions for the time and effort dedicated to new regenerative economic activities.
Q: Overall, I really love the idea to support further campaigns etc. and to grow the movement through “ambassadors” kind of! However, I find the rewards rather high per person. (Especially from Level 1 to 2. Or is the idea that they use the Seeds from Level 1 to invite 5 more people and then they would need extra Seeds to use in the ecosystem? So people would only progress to Level 2 if they fulfilled the mission (inviting 5 people) of Level 1? This would mean they actually need 15X5 = 75S in Level 1 → so 100S in total would be plenty. Get 15 before and 85 after. They are also rewarded for inviting more people with Seeds for the Harvest.
or maybe I just don’t understand what is the “second contribution” @cuyeo (sorry, not meaning to be overly critical, just trying to understand and develop best practice together, I find your approach really cool!)
A: Yes, the idea of the first batch of seeds is to spread it through their circles, so on level 2 I expect them to be seedless We don’t want to make the invitations a strong requirement to move to level 2, because inviting people here in Costa Rica is super hard. Everybody has been scammed at least once by weird technological investments that sound too good to be true. So if they don’t circulate the money, we will ask it back and find more people ourselves. These thing we call contributions is not installing the app, or inviting somebody. Contributions are any kind of labor that supports the work of our sister collectives: giving a workshop, cleaning the space, tending the garden, spreading books and seeds from our library, repairing a gadget, producing a radio show, and many more things that happen daily in the circle. If they contribute once, they are recognized with a workshop of criptocurrencies and some seeds to spread. If they contribute more times, we pay their time in seeds and accompany them in their journey to put these seeds to good use. With the current price of seeds, I think the recognition is abundant and fair. But as I said in the previous answer in the document, the main goal is for the recognition to be equal, to set the tone of our solidarity circle. I expect everybody from the circle to become generous with their seeds, and get more nice people into the circle with the seeds they receive.
